My approach:

“Tarotpy” is a term coined by Laura Sneider, a depth psychotherapist who developed this method of working with tarot imaginally, rather than following a predetermined, prescriptive method of card interpretation. The term “tarotpy” combines the words ‘tarot’ and ‘therapy,’ highlighting the psychological and therapeutic aspects of working with tarot and other oracle cards.

My approach to tarot and oracle card readings follows Laura’s approach as well as uses the Dream Tending skillset, as these methods are synergistic and often overlap. What this means is that we explore what the imagery of the card evokes in you, rather than relying solely on a written (or memorized) description of the card’s meaning. I will never predict the future or tell you what any card or spread definitively “means.” Rather, together we’ll circle around your question layering in personal, mythic and animist dimensions to your query.

Please note: While working with cards in this fashion can feel therapeutic (and in my humble opinion and personal experience, can be incredibly healing) these sessions are not intended to be therapy or replace it.
