Ways to Work with Me

HOST THE VISITORS: DREAMS, IMAGINATION & CREATIVITY

Dreams & Imaginal Encounters

If you are bedeviled by your dreams, wondering what your dreams mean and how you might get the most from them, I'm glad you're here.

Create a bridge between the vibrancy of your dreaming/imaginal world and the waking world; experience a profound relationship with imaginal figures; create a renewed sense of aliveness in everyday life something about answering the question, ‘what does this dream mean,’ or finding a more satisfying way to relate to your dreams

Set boundaries with imaginal figures; unlock new meaning from nightmares, thereby de-escalating the disturbance and fear; re-experience the figures from a safe distance, and watch them transform from frightening to ally

We can work together to help you build the capacity to remember your dreams and explore your imagination via other methods, like daydreams, visions, and tarot/oracle cards, thereby tapping into the power of imaginal encounters even without dream recall.

What to expect from your Individual session

Dream & Imagination sessions are 90 minutes, provided virtually (with some in-person availability. Learn more here). The cost is $120. Follow up sessions may be 60 mins ($90) for established clients, at your request. Please contact me if you would like to discuss this option.

Dreamers can expect to be guided through a dream or image they bring to session and to leave with a way to ‘dream the dream forward’ via a home practice. Dreamers will receive one follow-up email approximately a week following the session. Dreamwork is best done in 2 or more sessions, but standalone sessions can be scheduled.

Dream and Imagination sessions are not clinical, meaning they are not meant as a substitute or replacement for therapy services. They can be a helpful adjunct to the work you are already doing with a qualified therapist. If you are looking for dream-focused therapy, please visit my separate psychotherapy website. Dream & Imagination sessions are not available to former or current therapy clients.

    A different approach to dreamwork

Dream and Imagination sessions incorporate the personal, mythic and animist levels of dream work. They are guided via the Dream Tending approach (developed by Stephen Aizenstat, PhD) with Focusing (developed by Eugene Gendlin, PhD.) and expressive arts approaches woven in as well.
    ‍
In this approach to dream work, the purpose isn't simply to analyze a dream or mine it for meaning (though often deep meaning emerges) as to walk all the way around it, discovering as we do the ways a dream’s details relate to the details of our lives (the personal level) and humanity's collective experience (the mythic level). But we don't stop there. In Dream Tending, we form relationships with, and learn from, the figures and landscapes of our dreams, bringing them into the present and listening for what they have to teach us (the animist level). Even the nightmarish, the horrific figures have something to share. In this style of dream work we host these images, with safety and support, in order to learn from them.
    ‍
This skillset can be applied to all manner of imaginal encounters: dreams, reverie, daydreams, and psychedelic experiences (note: I don't offer psychedelic-assisted therapy or journeying at this time, but individual sessions can be useful in integrating your recent or distant past psychedelic experiences).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Before our first session, please read and sign the consent form. This form goes over the terms and conditions, as well was what to expect of our time together. This form must be completed before our session.
